I am more interested in the costs of modern society on (1) the environment and (2) the slave class that maintains it. You keep raving about innovation, and yet it only seems to get worse, and it only seems like innovation only allows people to detach more from reality and allow them to extract more (lithium from south America, phosphorus from morroco, cobalt from congo, coffee from brazil etc.) from the natural world whole keeping it all out of view and in third world countries where shit is harvested and made.
I don't think innovation has done much besides create more problems, as is the case with combustion creating fossil fuel problems, DDT having detrimental effects on testosterone levels, and social media fucking with people's heads.
