Man, thermodynamics is some rough shit. I failed my thermodynamics exam and had to retake it. It's interesting when it all clicks though.

Your only hope is if it's a "same questions every year" type of exam. Then what you need to do is find a textbook that goes through the questions step by step and keep repeating them until you get them down. Don't do anything else over the next two days that you can avoid.

As it was essentially the only exam I had to retake I spent a lot of the summer going through it until I had it down perfect, I actually made a system for how the exam was laid out. I had a table laid out that made making mistakes much more unlikely.

I can tell that the professor was out looking for blood and especially spiteful for stopping us retards who had to resit to get a high mark because he still barely gave me over 70% even though I knew I got everything or nearly everything right (they also threw in questions with arbitrary language answers just to trip up people who looked like they were going to get perfect marks). I'm sure he also hated the original way I laid things out since he's been doing it the other way for years where it's all a mess. I actually had to pass the dude years later on my way to another part of the university as occasionally we would show up at the same time and he didn't even acknowledge me. Pretty sour guy.

yeah im not looking forward to it...
last years module was thermo, i passed that, but this years module is applied thermo, so i basically have to just apply the principles to stuff like reciprocating engines, turbofans, etc.

Other than that, be careful with your units and don't overthink it. It should be plug and chug once you lay everything out

I honestly do not think thermodynamics is that hard, but all of the professors at my college use bullshit tactics to give it a low pass rate for reasons unbeknownst to me. The also curve nothing, regardless of how low the average is (usually in the 40-50% range).
I think they're trying to weed out the brainlets and poor students, but you don't take the class until your fourth or fifth semester, so the vast majority of fuck ups are already gone, so they have to resort to fuckery to make the otherwise good students trip up.

I passed it with a D the first time I took with an awful professor that didn't teach and wanted half the class to fail. I'm taking it again to learn it a little deeper and hopefully get a better grade.
Our first exam was on chapters 1-3, and he gave us a chapter 4 problem that was worth 40% of the exam. He said he wanted us to

No curve.

The professor I'm taking it with now not only expects you have completely mastered the material conceptually and practically (which is fair), but knowingly does not give you anywhere near enough time to finish the exam. There is no time to think. You need to know exactly what you're doing without thinking and blaze through the exam, and even then you'll still probably only make it about 3/4 of the way through.

Why are they like this? Because they are Iranian incels who have nothing to take pride in other than how much smarter they think they are than anyone else.

Clarification. I do not think introductory thermodynamics is that hard (thermo I). I understand that real world thermodynamics is quite complicated, but you don't break into anything terrible at the thermo 1 level anyways.
