When did this gay notion of feathered Dinosaurs became prominent? I remember when I was a kid no one mentioned such thing, then it was said that they *could* have had feathers since we can't really know for sure that they didn't have, and now it seems like an accepted fact that they were feathered. How did it happen?

Because some dinosaurs did have feathers. The problem is that anti-science cucks think that one branch of dinosaurs that were feathered means that all dinosaurs were feathered. Dinos like Stegosauruses, Triceratops, etc. were not feathered.

Theropods had feathers, which are also the dinosaurs that modern birds originated from. It's unknown whether the feathers were a juvenile feature only or played a big role throughout their lifetimes, but scientists are sure theropods had feathers.

What we know for a fact from the fossil records though is that dinosaurs and birds either descended from the same animal, or that birds are direct descendants of dinosaurs. The existence of dino feathers likely hinges on the answer to this dichotomy.

You literally cannot get intact DNA from ancient fossils for sequencing.
Improved sequencing has nothing to do with the feathered dinosaur paradigm.

Correct, but not relevant.

It does. They're not looking at dinosaur DNA, they're looking at the lineage of birds and reptiles. And also comparing bird/reptile physiology against dinosaur fossils in light of modern understanding of lineage.

The upshot is that most of the later dinosaurs were probably closer to birds than to reptiles. Bear in mind that dinosaurs covered a huge time span. T-rex was closer to the present day than to e.g. stegosaurus.

It is thought that they could glide a little. If not, it was used for thermoregulation or to attract mates/scare predators (goosebumps) much like modern birds use it today.
