Alright nerds... I got a bass viola da gamba which I need to tie 7 frets onto. The recommended diameters for the tied frets in descending order from top to bottom are:
>0.95
>0.90
>0.85
>0.80
>0.75
>0.70
>0.65
Descending sizes are setup so when the strings are pressed against the first/top fret, it isn't able to vibrate against the bottom frets and ruin the sound. I have 9 frets which can be used:
>3x 1.02
>3x 0.81
>3x 0.71
What is the best string configuration, if the strings get increasingly farther away from the neck (from top down), I could use to minimize the probability of fret buzz while playing?
