>>13185151The amount of dumb/retarded takes on hyperloop is insane lmao. There are few key things that need to be understood to make sense of hyperloop. People just seem to completely ignore reality.
1) Railroads aren't profitable
2) Highspeed railroads aren't profitable
3) Railroads cost an arm and leg
4) Highspeed railroads cost your kidney, arm, leg, eye, ear.
5) Not in China, not in Europe, not in India, and not in US. None of the railroads are profitable ventures and are subsidized HEAVILY or is run entirely by governments.
In lieu of these, privately funded/systems are absolutely game changer as they save public taxpayers HUNDREDS of BILLIONS of dollar per project.
So whats the issue?
1) Unproven (anything new is strange/fearful and requires time to be known/understood)
2) Government projects and hate private sectors getting into government monopoly, particularly as these would reduce their annual dozens of billions in contracts/jobs.
3) NIMBY (NOT IN MY BACKYARD)
4) Politicians/corruption and rent seekers looking to extort these companies
>WHAT ABOUT ENGINEERING?Non-issue. Only brainlets think these are impossible, engineering wise. Smart people with smart money = galaxy is the limit, not the sky, not the space and certainly not earth.
