Assuming the craft is from some alien source (as it would likely be, or else whichever country had the technology would have immeadiately instated a one world super empire).
That means that the craft is from some planet that harbours intelligent life.
Since such an advanced civilization would appear to astronomers if it was close enough for us to view, it means that this alien craft is from extraterrestrial source at least several thousands of lightyears away.
For the probe to be useful, it's information would have to arrive within a fraction of an alien's lifespan (taking into account that the same information would also take at least the same ammount of time to return as it took for the probe to arrive to earth).
Given the unlikelyhood of aliens living several tens of thousands of years (supposing they don't live as some sort of AI hivemind).
Then the aliens have some sort of FTL technology.
