Is there any significant difference in the short term and long term between methyphenidate (Ritalin) and dextroamphetamines (Adderall)? Society has fried my dopamine receptors and while I used to be able to read entire novels in a sitting now getting through a chapter or two is hard. I'm working on deleting social media and sharply decreasing phone and tech usage but in the meantime these ADHD meds let me actually function.
However, a few days on Adderall and I can tell its absolutely awful for my body. Ritalin seems more neutral and I have heard anecdotally it is not as bad in the long term. Is there anything substantiating this? Most medical literature I find just says they're equally effective even though the mechanism is somewhat different. Personal anecdotes also welcomed
