>>13176917Well... there are certain problems to be solved.
First, you would require some massive trees, something like the baobab but even bigger, the problem is that the tree requires a lot of time to grow, which isn't a problem if you have a continous production of trees that you can relocate easily but that imposes some hard market dynamics. But when you solve time, now you have to solve the problem that actually trees have mass limits, so you will either have to find a way for the tree to start integrating some foreign material to increase it's resistance or make it ligther.
Then, you have another problem, you will have to carve out your house inside the tree. At first is not a problem, you just have to keep part of the phloeme and xyleme intact and hope for the best, but over time time that tree is going to keep growing and you will have to keep carving lest you want to wake up one day and find out that you cannot leave or enter your home anymore. Then there is the problem of humidity, a plant can be considered like the mere connection of water from the soil to the air, so there is a constant flow of water around you that can cause long term problems.
Also, the tree is constantly excreting leaves or bark. Which over time it can create a very uneven floor, so it would be annoying to walk around unless you trim the floor every so often which only increases maintenance.
Meanwhile, you can stop being a faggy tree-hugger and dig yourself inside a mountain. You will live off mining and your craftmanship, develop strong muscles and be extremely safe from the outside.
