No it's not. You can always try to replicate a wet chemistry paper (and it will almost always work, even if it's from a low-tier journal like tet lett). Computational stuff is different. You can only compare a simulation to another simulation, and it's very difficult to actually design an experiment that can tell you what a TS geometry is like or whatever.

It is even worse. Look up Retraction Watch. The volume of retractions is so overwhelming they had to use a database to keep track of all the miscreants. The retractions and the irreproducible stuff have a direct impact on human lives. Half of them should have been arrested, tried and do 10 years hard labour.
