We may be looking at some kind of emergency landing.
All 4 engines somehow lost power and were shut down (maybe they ate too many bird like the Hudson river crashlanding)
The remaining smoke trail would be the APU running, allowing the plane to still have hydraulic power and power its system.
The trail on the wing tips don't look like it would be caused by vortices. It is possible that the pilot is jettisoning the extra fuel to lighten the plane.
