Medecin is also a science

This is a genuine question and I don't want it to turn political, I genuinely want to hear the best possible argument against this.

Transgenderism (Gender dysphoria) is so close to Schizophrenia that it is almost inhumane to treat it with "transition" and to take it away from the category of "mental disease" halts research that is needed to help these people - My claim

The logic behind it:
A large amount of forms of Schizophrenia are expressed in delusions about the self or the outside world that persist to an irrational degree against the revelations of reality. A trans person is born a sex, they will always by definition be this sex, they even agree to that and go on to claim that sex and gender are separate which they clearly aren't otherwise 98% of people wouldn't have a matching sex and gender. Trans people are about as rare as people with other serious mental disorders, they experience the same issues from self harm to social delusions over extraordinary social behavior to suicide. The stats are almost identical with schizophrenia. I think you get the gist.

Now I genuinely ask, and I really want to know without any accusation or appeal to "kindness" what would be a rational reason to not classify it as a serious mental illness

Let me make sure I made this clear.
I don't want any name-calling, hate or similar, I just want to understand the rational of someone who thinks different from me.
