Did you know you didn’t need visas or green card to get to the US before? Why is it that the first German cars were first legally allowed for importation and registration in 1983 but when we think of the summer of love we presume volkswagen vans and scooby. Same reasoning Texas-Mexico border is supposedly open but when I look at cars on the Texas side I fail to spot a single Škoda.

one time back when i was working for nasa & noao in tucson, i was also running a hash oil extraction lab in a rented house that was about a mile south of noao headquarters. one day i was in the kitchen cooking down a batch of extract and i wanted to check the fluid level, but because i was as high as it gets i decided not to walk over to light switch a few feet away to get some light to see into the triple boiler with and instead i flicked my bic over the stock pot to see what was happening. in doing so i ignited the vapor from the evaporating solvent and a massive fireball rapidly rose up from the stove and traveled across the kitchen ceiling out into the adjacent rooms. i put the lid on the stock pot to snuff it almost as soon as i realized my mistake and nothing else caught fire or was damaged much except for some singed eyebrows.
