Maybe this wouldn't manage to kill you if were smart and made a hat or whatever, but you definitely would have a harder time mating if a female could choose between some black dudes, who can live their lives normally in the Sun, and you who's covered in leaves, scared of the Sun, is constantly in pain, and doesn't produce as much when working.
