>>13166669Becoming addicted to anything basically involves three things:
1. Cue
2. Action
3. Reward
> CueThe cue is the thing that lets you know that you need to do something. As an example, a boner or a lewd pic lets you know its time to masturbate.
> ActionThe action is the thing that you are addicted to. In this example, masturbating is the action.
> RewardThe reward is the perceived benefit received at the end or completion of the action involved. The orgasm is the reward in this case.
Getting addicted to anything is the same way, I am not physically "addicted" in the technical sense, but I am "addicted" to working out and I'm anxious any time I can't work out because my body craves it after a long time of maintaining this habit. In my case, working out has the cue of it being 4pm (the time I usually work out). The action is running typically, mixed with other things. The reward in this case would be my ability to listen to music during a workout and to get my mind off of things. Another part of the reward is a hot shower after running along with food and the interplebs on my laptop after burning some calories.
If you want to get "addicted" to something, then the two things you need to do are to create a "cue" for doing math studies. Maybe it's a certain time of day, maybe you just ate dinner and now it's time to study. Create a cue for the beginning of your math studies. The second thing you need to do is to create some sort of reward at the end of your studies. In this case maybe you can take a warm shower or watch something from your favorite TV show. This will train your mind to associate math, or anything you want to do, with a physical reward, thus making your mind somewhat dependent on this habit as it craves the unique feeling it gets from doing it.
Hope it helps.
