The answer is complex. Basically companies borrow huge amounts of money to absorb the real cost of inflation (PPI) so it doesn't carry over to the consumer (CPI) and they do it through corporate bonds. They don't intend to starve people to death so much as they intend to cut them off from the real economy by absolutely destroying the purchasing power of fiat.

This serves to consolidate power: nothing more, nothing less. People are fucking clueless.
