I don't think they "create distortions in spacetime". While theoretically possible, it's such a pain in the ass that it's impractical.

I think, instead, they have either a new application of existing natural laws; or knowledge of a natural law we don't have.

As far as the acceleration... if it's a drone, G forces don't matter.

My latest theory about flight...

who is to say that these IR/RADAR sightings aren't synthetic targets produced by ECMs (electronics counter-measure devices).
phased array radars can absolutely induce false moving targets in other radar systems. I'm less sure about false IR targets, but i didn't work on IR systems.
