The pressure is proportional to depth, at 1 cm, for example, the pressure is only ?gz=(1027 kg/m^3)(9.81 m/s)(0.01 m)=100 Pascal, just about or roughly 0.1% of at atmosphere. At ten meters, p=?g(10 m)=101 kPa=1 atmosphere, just about. Every 10 meters is approximately another atmosphere.

I will add that the pressure at 1 meter in a 1 inch diameter pipe is identical to the pressure at 1 meter in the sea (neglecting the difference in density of sea vs. freshwater, but this is only like 3 percent or something)
