Why does evolutionary psychology get so much hate? Seems pretty simple to me. Understanding evolution and its impacts on us is important if we want to explain our thoughts and actions. It seems to me that evo psych is either 1) abused by disingenuous right wingers to support their ideologically motivated claims or 2) aggressively attacked by blank slate leftists who think it's "bio-essentialist" or whatever. What does /sci/ think?
