Has anybody actually read this book?
I have it sitting beside me right now.
The first 300 pages or so are absolutely awful. Only after that does it get good. The annoying and totally fraud attempt to repeat over and over again to drill it into you that 'omg self reference' with those awful achillies/tortoise anecdotes are pure shit.

This is a much better book: https://mitpress.mit.edu/books/computational-beauty-nature if you want some kind of 'ingnite the fire' style popular science/mathematics book.
