They take 2 people, drive them to a remote area, have them strip naked, and drive away.
Camera crew obviously follows, but they only get one item of choice, such as a knife, fire starter, ect...
They have to live off the land for 21 days which also includes traveling through the area for miles to an extraction point.
They also have a show called Naked and Afraid XL where they do the same thing, but it's with multiple people, spread out around a larger area. There have been cases to where the women would group up with no males.
It's worth a watch if you're interested. It can be boring at times, but it's pretty realistic in terms of survival. Not everyone makes it, and some are carted off to the hospital.
