we run to get places. we lift to make places. you'd run (more like jog) often to hunt, and you'd sprint seldom to get away from predators. you'd lift to haul prey, fallen allies, stones or logs for construction of homes or other structures.
lift once or twice a week, jog for a while every day. give yourself a break one day a week, or maybe for the full weekend.
if you're very interested in your health, i also recommend taking cold showers and having your AC be mildly uncomfortable year-round. two degrees higher than you'd like in the summer, two degrees lower than you'd like in the winter. you'll also save money doing that.
also for fuck's sake lift correctly and don't pull any muscles and go ask
