And if it is a real phenomenon, it is troubling how the media goes about discussing the topic... because anybody is considered transgender just because they say they are. This is not how a true biological phenomenon would actually work under any sane circumstances.
If you want to be scientific about it, you'd need to have a way to TELL somebody they were transgender even if they thought they WEREN'T transgender. Otherwise it's just schizo babble.
