Books about mindfulness meditation are a good start and you can usually find free PDFs online. Full Catastrophe Living (haven't read this one myself desu), The Mind Illuminated (my personal favorite, has pretty clear explanations) and The Miracle of Mindfulness are often recommended. You should be able to research by yourself which source has what you're looking for and then just try it out.
Besides mindfulness meditation there are also other forms, but I recommend starting with mindfulness.
Since you're on /sci/, you might also be interested in the scientific research on meditation's effects. Altered Traits is a good book about that.
