Could I use two smaller telescopes working together instead of a bigger one? Earth observatory a are always one big telescope with one big (segmented) mirror. Could you have like 5 astro cameras with their own telescope/lense and point them at the same spot to see farther and get better resolution?

Is there a hard limit like a certain distance that can be seen with a given diameter of mirror or could you keep adding more smaller telescopes until you would get the same resolution of any big telescope?

The size of the individual scopes limits your resolution (less light collection), and you also need a certain degree of coherence between all your different sources, which is why it's not often used for shorter wavelengths (IR, VIS). It works really fucking well for radio wavelengths though.

Not sure about that, but there's quite a few ways to deal with atmospheric interference - the most obvious that comes to mind is the laser method - you calibrate your optics to the unperturbed appearance of a laser in the ccd field and then use the laser as a kind of artificial star - then based on how the appearance of it changes in your images you can do a kind of rough modification of the image.

Because nothing launched into space is cheap, nothing that needs to operate in space is cheap, and nothing that needs to function for a reasonable time without maintenance is cheap

SpaceX launched 1500 satellites for ~$1 billion. A ground station on Earth cost that much.

Space launch was expensive 10 years ago, now its fallen and is falling exponentially. Its not just SpaceX, there are dozens of private rocket companies that do cheap launch services that didn't exist 5 years ago.
Its not just rocket costs that have gone down, satellite cost have taken a dive for the better as well.
