So does "consciousness" basicly arise from observing other humans behavior and then applying those neural connections to our own behavior?
Like it started out as very primitive humans performing instinctual functions to survive and as our species became more and more social we needed ways to model the behavior of the people around us to predict their actions.
Then over several thousands of years this fed into itself making our behavior more and more complex to a point where one could define it as "consciousness".
Then this ability to be aware of our own behavior allowed us to be much more efficient in our social structures giving birth to societies.
