Humans are the only primates that share the following traits with aquatic mammals:
>Mostly hairless skin.
>Vernix caseosa (waxy white substance covering newborns).
>Swimming reflex after being born.
>Face to face copulation.
>Preference for umami flavour (naturally occurring in seafood).
>Trachea in the throat rather than in the nasal cavity.
>High levels of subcutaneous fat.
>Joy for swimming and diving.
Still, the Aquatic Ape Hypothesis is considered a baseless theory in the same level as creationism of Flat Earth. Why is so? I know some of the traits above can have a non-aquatic origin, but some of them just cannot be justified otherwise.
