People who have experience with lab equipment:

I want to make homemade vanilla extract, but I don't want to spend 6 months for optimal flavor when it's just steeped in a jar.

My solution to this would be "aging" it in an ultrasonic cleaner so that I can mechanically extract from the bean a lot quicker without applying an extraordinary amount of heat.

Now my problem is, the solvent you use for vanilla extract is typically vodka (40% abv), and I have concerns about its low flash point. Provided I don't light a cig while it's running I'm thinking I *should* be fine, but I'm concerned about the temperatures the liquid will rise to while the cleaner is running and if it will explode in my kitchen.

Will I blow myself up if I try to do this?
