If you, like a rational person without ideological bias, assume that the intelligence of a people is a major contributor to their success and that most races follow a bell curve distribution, then you'd wager that different countries/regions export different parts of their percentiles.
India, Indonesia, Thailand etc. are poor as shit. The (below) average asian has very little chance of getting to the US, never mind staying there without state support. Thus, only those with an above average and high intelligence are able to migrate to wealthier countries.
The reverse, kind of, occurs in east asian countries. Japs, Chinks and Koreans live in relatively prosperous and intelligent environments, meaning that the average Asian can very well afford coming to the US, while the elite ones have no incentive to emigrate due to their ability to generate wealth within their country (possibly more than in the US). Because the average Jap (105) is smarter than the american (98, dropping), you'll notice a higher general performance, but a lower representation at the tail ends.
This, of course, is set of by retarded political policies of inclusion and diversity, but the overall pattern still remains.
