Oil and gas is moving towards green technologies. How to get ahead of the curve?

Carbon capture and cleaner production are the obvious paths. Where's the real money at?

Is the industry dead/dying, or is it just transitioning? How do oil and gas skills transfer?

Do I need to get a master's in environmental engineering or is it a waste of time?

Sounds like a stupid move. Going green doesn't necessarily relate to demanding for more environmental engineers. If I were you, I'd go for a MBA and would do the engineer-to-manager transition. If you end up leaving the industry for whatever reasons, you'll the an experienced engineering/project/product/whatever manager, as opposed to an unemployed petroleum engineer. The MBA would definitely give you all the versatility you'll need to be safe during this transition to renewables
