You guys have already forgotten Boeing killing dozens of people by cutting corners and having literal pajeets take care of software for the 737 MAX? Have you also forgotten how they tried to shoehorn their quick fixes past the FAA and how only after every non-burger on the planet laughed at them and refused to use their planes they finally had to seriously address the issue? Accountability came pretty late in this case, and I can only wonder how many other things get swept under the carpet and rarely make headlines unless a bunch of people die.

Good premise, but you're out of luck if you want to try replicating lunar rover, microgravity, or particle accelerator experiments. Apart from the principle of discovering things yourself, science is built on the principle of honor.
