Can anyone explain what I did wrong to get opposite derivatives in 2 and -2? I just changed the order of calculating derivatives, but the answer doesn't eaual the same.

Because the minus comes from the derivative of 1/x
So you have to put the minus where you take the derivative of x, i.e. f/x = (f'*x-f)/x^2

Don't take derivatives by memorizing the quotient rule, the quotient rule hides what actually happens and makes it easy to make mistakes.

Use the product rule and write f(x)/g(x) = f(x) g^{-1}(x).

I did a whole degree with the quotient rule separate from the product rule, it's fine op just divide by x next time
