He's a genius at selecting just the right start-ups, muscling his way into control of them, and then flipping the whole company for a substantial profit, the same way a boomer couple flips a house. And all along, he's hyping a fanbase that eats up his every empty promise, whether it's 700 mph trains, brain activated game controllers, solar roof tiles or Mars colonies.
Once there's any hint of irreversible financial problems for Tesla, he's going to dump the company off on another party. And at this point, SpaceX is nothing more than an excuse to create a launch pad complex and real estate development in Boca Chica, with the same goal in mind. He's a multi-billionaire, but it's almost all on paper at this point. He needs to convert it to liquidity so he can start playing the cryptocurrency markets big time.
