Wrapping up my sophomore year as a MechE, however, I'm actually a little ahead of schedule due to summer courses and courses I transfered in.
Regardless, I chose mechanical engineering because I thought it was a highly sought, employable field. It isn't. There's too many of us. I compete with dozens of other MechEs for even the shittiest internship in the middle of Bumfuck Nowhere, Midwest. I want to switch to an engineering discipline that's actually in-demand, and electrical engineering seems to fit the bill.
Unfortunately, as far as coursework goes, MechE and EE are about as far apart as two engineering majors can be, and about half the classes I busted my ass on the last two semesters would count towards jack shit.
Can I feasibly double major in MechE and EE? I know that EE minor isn't really a thing, and I'd assume a MechE minor isn't either.
What about finishing up MechE and doing an EE Master's?
I don't know what to do, but I'm surrounded by midwits and I feel like it's too late to change course.
