>>13120651This is true. I remember seeing some fruitarian vlog on Youtube, basically he was an extreme version of a vegan and ate nothing but fruit. He was adamant that it's the natural diet for humans, but he didn't seem to take into account that the fruit we buy from the store have been bred to be way more sweet and fleshy. Like compare a wild banana to the breed we eat nowadays. Even then, he had to eat several kilograms of fruit per day to get enough calories. There's no way he could survive in the forest looking for enough mangos to stay alive, even in the tropic. Indigenous jungle tribes have a very mixed diet, they'll gather insects, fruit and hunt small animals like monkeys and bats for some meat. At the same time somebody like the San tribe in Africa or inuits mainly just eat meat. Humans have developed to survive on very diverse diets which let us spread as wide as we did, so it's very hard to pinpoint what is the exact optimal diet for people
The best bet is to look at the areas where people live the longest. As far as I'm aware, these areas are Okinawa in Japan and the Mediterranean in Europe, which seems to indicate a diet rich in seafood, various vegetables and essential oils
