Are black holes proof of a 4th spatial dimension?

Imagine a 2D plane, imagine so much mass in a single area in a 2D plane that it would be forced into the 3rd dimension. To us living in the 3rd dimension, it would be a column. As a 2D creature you would not be able to see the mass that was forced into a 3rd dimension, you would be able to measure that it is there, you would be able to see its effects, but you would not be able to see it. That is very much like a black hole.
