Federated Aerospace has developed the prototype for a new fighter aeroplane. It has one major flaw; it has an ejector seat that will kill the pilot 100% of the time it is used. The
budget to fix the undesirable situation is $3 million. Two conceptual designs were produced to fix the ejector seat:
1. Design A which would take one year to develop, cost $2.5 million dollars, and would give the pilot a 50% probability of surviving.
2. Design B which would take two years to develop, cost $4 million but would give the pilot a 95% probability of the pilot surviving.

Which conceptual design should be chosen and why (all other things being equal)?
