There is literally no reason that there is any difference in knowledge anymore.
50 years ago you couldn't just download the newest journal or buy the most up to date scientific books from any country and got them delivered in a few days.
Now literally anything is nearly instantaneous. The only reason "ivy league" universities were considered the gold standard was because they had exclusive learning material and exclusive knowledge.
Now you can go to Amazon US from South Africa, there you can buy the most up to date book about any subject, and you are more or less on the same level as the "800" IQ ivy league elitist.
Science doesn't evolve anymore. Yes, there are improvements, but if you buy the most up to date Biology science book written by the top Biology scientists, you are pretty much on the same Biology level as people are in 50 years. In fact even if Biology evolves, you can easily catch up with the best of the best as soon as a new book/journal is released.
Today Ivy league universities are only there for rich people to find their peers. In fact the average ivy league "phd" is much worse than the average phd on any other university where you have to actually fight for your phd.
The ivy league universities are trying to still be relevant by trying to attract the "smartest" people and the most important scientists. But this won't help. In fact if you are able to learn and invest the time, then there is literally no "knowledge difference" between you and the most prestigious Ivy league "elite".
Also just look up the "best scientists" and you will realize that pretty much all important scientists are from non ivy league universities and only got hired by ivy league universities after they became famous.
The "elite universities" don't create the elites. The elites come from outside. It's like going to a fast food restaurant to lose weight because the most famous "weight experts" are working there.
