Data scientists/analysts

What would you say a good data analyst looks like? What would you search for in a new candidate?

I am a 22 year old data analyst team lead, everyone in my team is older than me. Today my team mate told me she is tired of calculating averages and making dashboards, as she could do better. At the same time, she does not seem to have a good business understanding after the 6 months of working here, and I can't see how she would do better working on complex models when it's difficult for her to get the simple stuff right. She has openly expressed that she wishes there was a more senior (as in with lots of experience) person on the team, which is clearly not me. I am just very well liked by managers, as I am open to trying everything, and can carry out projects and ask questions independently, and am able to help see others how data science can be applied to their needs.

What do I even do? Is me being a team lead retarded?
