I am a brainlet, but I like physics and I want to get into the field of building cool things namely rockets. Sadly I've already gone to college and got a useless degree. What would be step one of salvaging my scientific dreams. I don't know much about the field, if someone can give me a day to day rundown of the average engineer that would be great too.

Just build model rockets. You could maybe try to get into an engineering company as a janitor or something. There are probably several non engineering jobs at a company like spacex.

There are a bunch of elitists here. Muh engineering license. There is nobody stopping you from learning math and engineering skills. Figure out what you are actually interested in. Software? Electronics? A mix of both? Mech? Aeronautical? Do research on these fields. "Engineering" is such a wide breadth of topics, even when you are talking about aerospace. Also, don't let any retard on this board convince you that you cant do what you want to do in life. You may need a degree to get hired for many jobs, but the ambition and interest in the field is what will make you succeed.

Thanks friend. It's nice to hear the encouragement. I have started relearning math on khan academy, signed up for an intro mechanical engineering course on coursera and found a bunch of beginner books. I think this is a good start.

You can probably apply to any university for an undergraduate in engineering.

The classes aren't that hard, but the math and physics are really tedious especially if you go into mechanical engineering.

Idk I just got a bachelor's in engineering at a top school in Canada.

The classes are tedious because it's a lot of boring math and physics.

Advanced calculus and diffential equations, advanced fluid mechanics, advanced heat transfer and mass transfer.

It's just a lot of science stuff. It's boring. I was a B+ student but I slept alot in class. It's not difficult, once you get the concept the calculations aren't hard to do. It just a lot of work to solve each problem, if you make a small mistake the entire answer will be incorrect.

Idk I make really good money after graduating, and you won't use like 90% of the math you learn unless you're specifically in a design position at your company.

The math is hard.
Although it depends. I got the highest grades in calc 2 homeworks but failed the exam three times cause I didn't knew what kind of exercises my professor does in every exam cause I never talk to people. So I was caught off guard every time.

yo may also self teach yourself how to use cad programs, being a junior cadist is one of the most popular entry level engineer positions

Learn basic math. I would then suggest you work your way through elementary physics. Once you get there start thinking about what kind of engineering you are interested in. At that point a great resource is MIT opencourseware. In general there are a ton of free college textbooks that will teach you anything. By the time you finish all this you will probably be wise enough to know what to do next.
