duality

the concept of “duality” in physics over the last 20 years is by far the most significant paradigm shift we’ve seen in physics in recent history. dualities between string theories, between gauge QFTs and string theories, between theories of the very weak interactions and the very strong interactions—these have all arisen and called into question what direction physics is moving toward. a reductive theory of the very small may and probably does map directly into theories of the very big and very emergent, in general.

this kind of modern approach to physics is still what is being absorbed in the research community today, and normies are completely left in the dust to discuss the past century of physics.

same with mathematicians. so out of touch
