>>13119315Think about the process of translating between languages. For simple sentences software like Google Translate is certainly adequate. However, what if you asked it to translate a sentence or, god forbid, a paragraph, whose language is meant to be artistic in how it is written. How would then program be able to comprehend that? How would a program possibly be able to create an equivalent paragraph/sentence that is artistically written. The software can only obey a certain set of rules to follow, which results in very literal translations. How would you even begin to program a set of algorithms that would be able to understand the original text's artistic meaning and flowery use of the language? How can you get programs to even understand intent as a general concept? Just because the computer will spit words back out at you, and, in some manner, it might make some sense, those words that it produces do not have any meaning behind them, unlike when the original writer uses them. The meaning is not derived from the words alone.
Even if you could break down this entire problem into a programmable set of algorithms, how would you even begin to start? Such a task is so immensely complex and has so many intricacies to it that such a task is futile. Even if it could be done, the time and manpower it would take would probably extend far beyond humanity's lifespan. And again, this is assuming if it could be done at all.
