>>13107761one additional idea of strong emergence could be that the cosmos unintelligibly emerged out of mathematics.
consciousness is the only reason anyone cares that anyone/anything exists. it is one of the ultimate questions that human beings have been interested in answering. for thousands of years, it has been an open question. nobody has an idea what the solution is, not only that, but nobody has an idea of what an idea would even be like.
weak emergence is ultimately a problem of mathematical complexity. if we were smart enough (or had computer fast enough) we could, in principle, be able to explain things like wetness of water, rigidity of steel etc. at the moment, nobody can achieve this due to the complexity.
something like consciousness or the existence of the cosmos seems to be impervious to even this kind of approach. no amount of manipulation of equations is ever going to give you an insight into these questions.
