If East Asians are so much higher IQ than Europeans, why is it Europeans that have discovered/invented almost everything throughout history?
Is this just a fluke of history, or is there truth to the idea that, while East Asians may have superior raw brain power, they lack ingenuity and creativity in caparison to Europeans?

Maybe European average IQ is decreasing. Or maybe Asian average IQ is rising. Or maybe the variance of European IQ is higher. Or maybe IQ is not that good of a predictor of scientific breakthroughs. I doubt it's a fluke in any case. There have been so many discoveries that this kind of a discrepancy is very unlikely due to just random chance.

consider japan: shithole until the meiji revolution in the 1900s but after adopting all of these their research output basically skyrocketed. now they produce world-class nobel laureates and mathematicians.

up until the 1980s china and india were still hobbling the potential of their own citizens with the most retarded policies you could think of (lmao cultural revolution lmao licence raj), but i predict that their research output will start picking up once they wear off the jetlag.

long story short chinese history is filled with war. there's never been a period of relative peace and prosperity in chinese history. even to this day china is trying to invade everything in asia. they are a bloodthirsty people.

this is more of a /his/ thread but IQ was essentially meaningless before the industrial revolution. this is because there were no IQ filtering mechanisms in society and power was herditary. this meant that there were no high IQ jobs or high IQ universities to let high IQ people work to their limit, and kings and queens would gain power by being smart but their progeny would revert to the mean instead of smart people breeding with smart people and dumb people with dumb people as we see today.

why the industrial revolution occurred in britain and then spread to the rest of the west first is still an open question but the reason why is moot for this discussion. it didn't occur in china and that means that china didn't get to have a society where most high IQ people get to put their abilities to good use until europe and america has already picked all the low hanging fruit of science and industry.

all that being said PRC is still a fraudulent society where people cheat their way through college and researchers get promoted by stealing research. for all its flaws you still have to be a legit scientist to advance in america and europe so we still punch above our weight population wise.

This is only true after the Industrial Revolution (aka last 200 years). In the Middle Ages Europeans were mogged by Ottomons and other civilizations invented the same or better versions of most European inventions

The 'asian parent' thing is real. Asians whip every last possible drop of academic performance out of their crotchfruit while whites mostly don't. The 'nurture' part of intelligence is maximized on a population level, but that doesn't mean whites aren't equal or superior on the 'nature' side and can surpass them with equal work.

I would dispute the IQ of East Asians since we don't actually know the real satistics because they don't measure their rural populations. The equivalent self-selection would like if Europe would only measure IQ in it's university towns while ignoring poorer cities, immigrant ghettos and rural population. That being said a lot comes down to the cultural value that Europeans have always placed on knowledge and scholarhips. The oldest universities in the world were found in 7th century Europe already and after the immense benefits of investing in knowledge was exposed the rest of the world simply copied the Western model, but without copying all the traditions that makes it work.

This tradition was demonstrably more valuable than genetic potentially, but this is of course no longer the case.
