Is there a spatial phenomenon capable of creating continuous motion?

Some spatial effect that could be used as an analog for a river or a waterfall to spin or oscillate some object that could gather and store motion?

Anything in theory? I'm a layperson with a slight understanding of the interplay between spacetime topology and relativity.
