>>13103964Well the IPA was kinda stupid about not using diacritics in the early parts of its history, so they quickly used up all the latin characters and jusyt resorted to use whatever characters they got their hands on like some character addicts. I'm glad they stopped that though as if not I don't even want to know what character they'd use for aspirated consonants /??/ and palitalised consonants /??/
