The problem is less about change in general and more about people imposing change on your environment, your routine/way of life etc. The lack of control one has over one's own environment and even more so about other people, the way they act, can be incredibly uncomfortable and thus induce anxiety. This is additionally exacerbated by generalized motor dysfunction and sensoric integration disorder that is characteristic for any type of autism and additionally limits the person. Thus, not only is there an element of insecurity in one's environment, there is very little one can do about it. It is plainly obvious for such a person, he may even start solely fixating on it, but cannot change anything about it.
This only becomes worse if one does not trust people around oneself, happens to be socially withdrawn and alienated from everyone else.
