Motion depends on the inertial frame of reference. When you spin on a merry-go-round, is the whole earth spinning, or are you the only one spinning? The inertial frame of reference on the merry-go-round makes it seem like the earth is spinning, but to an outside observer, this is simply not true. In the same way, is the sun spinning around the earth or are we the one's spinning? The same thing applies here.

Technically Einstein did prove it depends on your frame of reference. So that means when you jump the whole earth is technically just moving away from you for a brief period of time.
