This sounds dumb, but I want to become the next Elon Musk and make technology to improve the human race. I don't want to do everything Elon is doing because that would be redundant, but here are some fields I want to concentrate on:
- Space Flight (using railguns or other methods besides chemical propulsion if possible)
- Neural Interfacing/Mapping the Brain (I know, it sounds like Neuralink but it's interesting to me and I want to concentrate in this area)
- Quantum Computing (This could aid in mapping the human brain as well as simulating consciousness and other cool things)
- Nanotech (genetic engineering and a SUPER versatile technology, on top of medical usage)
- Genetic Engineering (extending the life expectancy of humans as well as
augmenting them)
- Fusion Power (Using a space company to harvest helium isotopes on the moon, more research could be done to make fusion a viable form of energy)
So far I'm thinking of taking a major in ME and a minor in Neuroscience to get most of this shit in order. What would be a good major/minor combination for these companies? How much of this stuff could I just learn by myself?
