Dark Matter v MOND

Recently Sabine Hossenfelder released a youtube video explaining how her thoughts on dark matter have changed over the years. Specifically, she says that she now believes modified gravity (MOND) is the preferred explanation for some of the problems that dark matter has been evoked to explain, while stating unequivically that dark matter remains the best explaination for many unexpected observations.

In response Ethan Siegel published an article in Forbes calling her "the most disingenuous contrarian in the field", an "inexperienced individual" peddling "disingenuous arguments" (Hossenfelder is two years Siegel's senior and has a more impressive CV). His article was a series of bullet points condescendingly lecturing her about how *only* dark matter can explain known problems in cosmology, refering to her as "you".

What does /sci/ think about this?

I think it's fine to write an article from a differing perspective, but to publicly attack another scientist seems to me to be grossly unprofessional.
