How am I going to beat somebody at a series of puzzles THAT THEY MADE anyways? How would that prove our relative intelligence. You can completely invalidate IQ measurements in the first place by studying to beat an IQ test, if I really fucking wanted to I could get into mensa by just studying the test pool and LARPing that I had a 145IQ since this shit is meant to exploit the fragile egos of people who have no self esteem in anything but their intellect.
>>13100513I wouldn't regard IQ tests as invalid unless you specifically studied for the questions ahead of time, not just if you had a general interest in patterns. I likely crushed the pattern recognition portions because I played chess as a hobby.
IQ is supposed to test both fluid and crystallized intelligence so coming up with shortcuts like say, memory palace for the memory portions spontaneously isn't "cheating" I think. It's kind of a blurry line though before you start excessively gamifying the test though.
